Today, Anna, a user on the popular website Reddit, shares her difficult experience after her husband returned from a guys’ trip filled with cheating and lies. What she discovered has left her torn between loyalty to her husband and doing what she believes is right.
The Trip With a Dark Secret
Anna’s husband went on a trip with a group of guys to a destination infamous for its sex tourism.
He assured her that it was going to be a totally clean vacation, despite the destination’s reputation.
They were just going to clear their heads from work.
An Unexpected FaceTime Call
But it seems the husband himself was in for a bit of a surprise.
During the trip, Anna’s husband FaceTimed her while his friends joined in on the local sex tourism.
He had no idea his friends, most of whom were in committed long-term relationships (some with children!) had in fact been planning to cheat on their partners.
A Circle of Betrayal
Most of the men on the trip are married with kids, but yet they apparently had no problem jumping at the chance to break their vows!
Only three members of the group – including Anna’s husband – abstained.
Her Husband’s Confession
Anna’s husband immediately came clean, FaceTiming her right away.
They had agreed that he would be totally upfront about anything that happened during the trip, and he was determined to uphold his end of the bargain.
Keep It a Secret, Honey
The only problem was, he asked her to keep everything he told her secret.
If she told any of these men’s partners what she now knew, it would be immediately obvious to everyone that it was her husband who had ratted them out.
And since a fair few of these men were coworkers, he didn’t want to deal with the fallout.
Now, Anna doesn’t know what to do!
An Uncomfortable Dilemma
Anna is really struggling with the idea of not informing these men’s wives and girlfriends about their misconduct.
As a woman, she feels a strong urge to tell the truth.
Don’t Break the Bro Code
But even putting aside the potential fallout, her husband says there’s no way the women don’t have an inkling of what’s going on.
And he says he doesn’t want to break the “bro code.”
