It had all started off well, as she began dating a returned missionary who proposed after a mere 5 weeks, and they began planning their temple marriage.
OP was only 19 at the time.
They Broke the Rules
They had ended up having sex before marriage, and her fiance, a man of integrity, said it would be wrong for them to get married in the temple, knowing they’d face significant judgment.
Sure enough, there was a great deal of judgment from their friends.
Everyone Gossiped About Them
OP had become a topic of gossip, and she knew these “friends” were judging her.
She weathered the storm, but barely.
Relating to a Fellow Outsider
OP saw a girl she had gone to high school with who belonged to the same ward as her, and who had gotten pregnant before marriage.
OP felt for her, knowing she likely felt just as isolated as OP had.

OP readily agreed, as her main goal was to assist her friend.

To OP’s disbelief, the bride had another girl, someone OP had never met, as her bridesmaid!
