They Were Excited to Finally Meet Her
OP and her husband were excited to meet her, as Kyle had been gushing about how perfect she was and that she was “the one.”
But the meeting didn’t go as planned.
Things Didn’t Go as Planned
When Fiona came over for dinner, OP was expecting a great evening.
Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when Fiona made a crude joke that left OP feeling disgusted and offended!
It Started Off so Well
As soon as Fiona walked in, our storyteller was struck by how similar she looked to her pictures. Kyle was beaming with happiness, and everything seemed perfect.
She greeted OP and her husband with hugs and handshakes, which was a great start!

But things went downhill quickly when she opened her mouth and blurted out the words, “I’m the one who’s sleeping with your son.”
OP was absolutely mortified!

She couldn’t believe Fiona would say something like that in front of her and her husband. Even her husband, who is known to enjoy a crude joke or two, was taken aback!
Kyle was amused at first, but when he saw OP’s reaction, his face dropped.

This joke filled OP with anger and disgust, and she immediately asked Fiona to leave! Kyle was disappointed, and he didn’t want her to leave.
He wanted her to stay and continue the dinner, but OP was not having any of it.
She Wasn’t What They Thought
She felt like Kyle had sold her the complete package, but Fiona’s comment shattered all her expectations.
OP was too disturbed by the visual it put in her head, and it translated into anger, which led to Fiona’s hasty exit.

She feels guilty for ruining what should have been a happy occasion for Kyle, but she couldn’t help feeling offended at the time by Fiona’s crude joke.

But in the heat of the moment, OP let her anger get the best of her and kicked Fiona out.
No One Is Perfect
Looking back, OP realizes that she might have been a bit too judgmental.
She was expecting Fiona to be perfect, and when she wasn’t, OP was quick to judge. But she’s also realizing that no one is perfect, and that includes Fiona.
And She Wants to Make Amends
In the end, she is hoping to make amends. She knows she made a mistake, and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to make things right.
She’s hoping Kyle will forgive her and that Fiona will be willing to give her another chance. Only time will tell what happens next, but OP is determined to make things right.
She’s Over It Now
As for Fiona’s inappropriate joke, OP realizes that it was just a joke. It might have been in poor taste, but it was just an awkward joke. OP is hoping to move past it and get to know Fiona better.
After all, she wants Kyle to be happy, and if Fiona makes him happy, then that’s all that matters.
