OP recently decided to take on a job as a janitor.
Money was tight, and this job was quick, convenient, and easy to get hired for.
But his employer had a crazy rule.
Their Crazy Rule
Employees were absolutely forbidden from purchasing any work-related items.
Everything had to be requisitioned from the corporation’s purchasing department.
It didn’t matter if it was a five-figure piece of equipment of a $4 bottle of Windex. Rules were rules.
Navigating Corporate Hurdles
Not only that, but OP himself wasn’t even allowed to make any of those requisitions!
All requisitions had to be made by a manager.
Is This Really Necessary?
Of course, he tried asking his manager if all of this was really necessary, but his manager refused to budge, and OP quickly decided not to care anyway.
After all, he got paid no matter what nonsense policies corporate decided to enforce.
The Missing Windex
Some weeks into the job, OP found himself out of Windex.
True to company policy, he notified his manager.
He’d get some new Windex soon, right?

But a whole week later, the Windex hadn’t arrived.
