The original poster (OP) is a middle aged man who has a 25-year-old son, Jamie, with a 20-year-old girlfriend, Megan.
The young couple has been dating for about 7 months.
He Never Liked Her
Jamie introduced his girlfriend to his dad about 2 months ago, and OP knew right away he didn’t like Megan very much.
She’s a Real Prize
And that first impression only intensified over the next several weeks.
OP finds his son’s girlfriend to be rude, messy, wasteful, and stuck-up.
She’s a Delicate Flower
It’s a bad combination, made worse by the fact that OP has personally witnessed Megan cuss out members of his family for eating chocolate that wasn’t even hers.
He Can Make His Own Mistakes
OP hasn’t been shy about telling his son what he thinks of the girlfriend.
But OP has also been very clear that his son is an adult and can do what he wants with his life.
They Were Making It Official
Very recently, the son delivered the news OP had been dreading: he and his girlfriend were engaged and planning their wedding.
He Wanted Dad’s Approval
Not only that, but OP’s son asked his dad if he approved of the girl now that he had known her for a couple of months.
He Laughed in His Face
OP laughed in his son’s face and told him that he did not approve of the girl or of their engagement.

The son and his fiance had been living at OP’s place even though the girl had her own apartment.
Now, though, OP wanted them to move out.

OP reminded his son that he still had three other underage children at home, and the girlfriend had been mean and nasty to all of them.
OP was also done supporting the young couple.

While his son was still reeling, OP decided to make one other thing clear.
He wasn’t going to pay for the wedding, so the son shouldn’t even bother asking.
