Chilling Mystery Train Whispers as North Korea’s Trains Suspected of Smuggling Arms to Russia!

A month after Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin met in Eastern Russia, new intel suggests their countries could be making secret plans together. Here’s why increased train traffic between North Korea and its neighbor could spell big trouble for the rest of the world.

What Were They Up To?

Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin raised eyebrows around the globe when they got together in the Amur region of Russia back in September.

The world wondered what the communist leaders could be up to.

A Diabolical Duo

For the most cynical or seasoned observers, it didn’t take much of a stretch to imagine that they were discussing plans for world domination.

Or at least for helping each other get a leg up on the Western world.

They’ve Been Warned

Both the United States and South Korea have repeatedly warned Russia and North Korea that any military cooperation would violate U.N. sanctions against Pyongyang for their nuclear missile program.

But Putin and Kim Jong Un have brushed aside such warnings and criticisms for years.

What Are You Going to Do About It?

In the wake of the September summit, and again facing dire warnings from South Korea, the official North Korean response amounted to “what are you going to do about it.”

It’s Normal and Natural

More specifically, North Korea said that it was “normal” and “natural” for neighboring countries to meet and discuss items of common interest.

Now, a month after the dynamic duo went back to their respective home bases, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) has released an alarming report.

A Train Bound for Trouble

According to a study from the center’s Beyond Parallel Project, recent satellite images show an unusually high amount of railway traffic heading from North Korea into Russia.

Specifically, Beyond Parallel says they have documented about 73 railroad cars at Tumangang Rail Station in Rason, a city in northeast North Korea not far from the Russian border.

An Alarming Increase

While the cars are completely draped in tarps, making it tough to definitively identify the cargo, CSIS says that amount of rail traffic represents a steep increase in what they normally see.

There’s Only One Conclusion

That bump in activity shortly after a confab between Putin and Kim Jong Un likely means that the train cars are loaded with munitions, according to CSIS.

Putin Needs a Power-up

That’s a scenario that makes sense given Russia’s ongoing war with Ukraine.

It has been widely reported in recent months that Putin’s forces are running low on supplies, with some frontline units being sent to battle with a frightening lack of firepower.

According to the CSIS report, North Korea could be swapping arms for technological intel to help boost their missile program.

Russia might also be pitching in to get North Korean spy satellites off the ground.

Hard Case to Make

Russia and North Korea might try to downplay the increased rail traffic, if they even care what the world thinks.

But it’s tough to make a case that this is just business as usual.

Just Like the Old Days

According to the CSIS report, this level of train traffic between the two communist powers has not been seen in over five years, well before the pandemic.

No matter how you look at it, this is one conspiracy theory that seems to have some legs.

Or rails, at least.
